NAIA premium bus service Ube Express launched

The Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board recently launched a premium bus service for travelers going to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The service provider is the logistics firm Airfreight 2100 Incorporated (Air21) via its Ube Express fleet.

“The Ube Express has 21 brand new Mercedes Benz air-conditioned buses that will pick up and drop off travelers at designated points roughly every 30 minutes nearly ’round the clock,'” reports Rudy Santos in The Philippine Star.

Each Ube Express bus cost PHP9.8 million and can accommodate 24 passengers. It has a CCTV, GPS, and WiFi system.

Sun.Star Manila and TV5 reported that the Ube Express fare is PHP300. However,  Ube Express general manager Garry David told Philippine Daily Inquirer that they have applied to launch a P150 per trip promo.

The Ube Express buses have three routes: Intramuros, Roxas Boulevard, and Makati City.

Along Roxas Boulevard, the designated stops are the following:

  • Midas Hotel
  • Hotel Jen
  • Manila Hotel
  • SM Mall of Asia
  • Entertainment City

In Makati, the stops are the following:

  • Glorietta 4
  • Glorietta 5
  • Ascott Hotel

Ube Express general manager Garry David said more stops will be announced in the coming days and that they aim to add 21 more buses next year.
