This is exactly the kind of logic that gets our blood boiling and makes us want to grab the first flight out of the country, but that would still mean going through NAIA, no?
Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya dismissed the latest survey by Sleeping In Airports that awarded NAIA the dubious distinction of being world’s worst airport, saying it was unfair to compare NAIA to, say, Chek Lap Kok and Changi airports because Manila’s international airport “isn’t designed to be slept at. You can’t demand hotel facilities from a house.”
But the government isn’t dismissing the criticisms outright. Abaya agrees that NAIA is due for a much-needed facelift in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit that Manila is hosting in Nov 2014.
Double time, Abaya!
