Yes, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA 1) may be the world’s worst airport, but we do have some of the best people working there.

“On Wednesday, Jan 29, baggage porter Jony Villon turned over to the authorities US$4,800 or more than PHP210,000 in cash in a blue transparent envelope that he found in a baggage cart, which was accidentally left behind by a returning overseas Filipino worker,” reports Raoul Esperas on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Villon had said he immediately informed his superiors of his discovery and they took the envelope to the airport’s lost and found section.
At around the same time, OFW Cristina Alcaraz Rosal had reported to airport officials that she had lost an envelope containing cash.
The ABS-CBNnew.com report revealed that “as standard operating procedure, airport authoritiesconducted an inventory in front of the owner to check the envelope’s contents, which were 48 pieces of US$100 bills.”
The money was then returned to Rosal.
Villon revealed that he is also a former OFW from Israel, so he said understood how valuable an OFW’s earnings are. “Alam ko po ang hirap ng isang OFW, kung kaya hindi ko naisip na ibulsa yung napulot ko (I know how difficult it is to be an OFW, so I never thought of taking the money),” said Villon, who earns PHP12,000 a month as ariport porter.
