Here’s a free light show: According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), we’ll get to see one of the year’s most beautiful meteor showers starting tonight, October 17. It goes on until October 25.
“Though thick clouds and rain may mess up the show, Dario de la Cruz, Pagasa’s Space Sciences and Astronomy Section (SSAS) head, said the Orionids are best observed shortly before midnight until dawn,” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
De la Cruz also added that “the maximum peak nights of the meteor shower would be on October 21 and 22, where at least 15 meteors per hour are expected to streak across the sky.”
