Muntinlupa City government gives up Christmas parties to focus on Yolanda relief

Who needs Christmas parties when you’ve already got the spirit of Christmas?

“Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the city government’s Christmas festivities will give way to helping rebuild communities in the Visayas, particularly its two adopted towns in Leyte that were damaged by Typhoon Yolanda,” reports Manila Standard Today.

According to the report, the Muntinlupa City council recently passed a resolution to adopt the Yoland-hit towns of Alang-alang and Jaro, which have a combined population of around 85,000 people.
