MTRCB goes after Mr. Bean’s butt

It’s one thing to call out noontime shows for parading scantily clad women, but it’s quite another thing to call out a show for slapstick.

The folks at the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) are currently all worked up over a “buttocks exposure scene” in an episode of the locally aired foreign sitcom, Mr. Bean.

On October 22, the MTRCB tweeted: “MTRCB asks ABS-CBN to explain buttocks exposure scene in Mr Bean daytime episode yesterday.”

“Mr. Bean, which had a six-year run in the United Kingdom starting 1989, currently airs at 945 am as part of ABS-CBN’s ‘Team Animazing’ line-up,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com.

The episode being referred to by the MTRCB involves the title character played by Rowan Atkinson getting locked out of his room without his clothes on. He proceeds to try to cover himself up with various items.

Clearly, nobody would be disturbed or aroused by such a hilarious skit—certainly not kids. However, the MTRCB thinks otherwise. In fact, they’ve set a mandatory conference with the TV network on Nov 5. Seriously?
