The fire that started in Mt. Apo on Sat, Mar 26, was rekindled on Tue evening, Mar 29, even as firefighters and more than 100 volunteers in the sitios of Tumpis and Kolan in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur have been working non-stop to stamp out the blaze.
Harry Camoro, Davao del Sur provincial risk reduction management officer, explained, “The fire rekindled on Tuesday night due to strong winds and is expected to affect more areas.”
“Meanwhile, an official also disclosed that wild animals had fled the mountain following the devastating fire,” reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.
