The 37 contestants in the Ms. Earth Beauty pageant will be gracing Makati City’s own campaign to spread awareness on climate change this coming Sunday.
The “Tigil Buga” campaign encourages motorists to shut off their engines for a full minute in support of the cause. Besides this, the city government has been holding a series of activities to celebrate Earth Day. They began with a dental mission for city inmates on April 14 and will culminate with tree planting activities on April 22.
On Saturday, the second round of free emission testing for public utility vehicles will be held. The activity will take place at the MACDA Compound along J.P. Rizal Extension, Brarangay Cembo, between 9 a.m. and 12 noon, GMA News reported.
