It’s better to be safe than sorry—but commuters on a budget don’t have a choice but to take the Metro Rail Transit (MRT). That’s why it’s disturbing when “a hairline crack” was discovered in the tracks.
“MRT spokesperson Al Vitangcol said a two-millimeter hairline crack was discovered on the northbound track of MRT between Shaw Boulevard and Boni Avenue stations, which is why operations between North Avenue and Shaw Boulevard stations were limited starting 655 am on Monday, Nov 18,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com. Thankfully, full operations resumed at 752 am after a “temporary remedy” was put in place.
Vitangcol said that “the thermal welding of the track, which usually takes about three hours, will be done tonight.”
