“The Manila Police District (MPD) is investigating the reported rampant illegal drug trade and use near schools on Taft Avenue in Manila,” reports Jenny F. Manongdo in Tempo.

MPD director Senior Supt. Rolando Z. Nana said, “These are all subject to validation and all station commanders are monitoring this. We are already working with the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council. Barangay officials should actively work on this and they should give us recommendations on counter-measures to stop the drug problem.”

Nana likewise issued a warning to students who are selling and using illegal drugs. “If you get involved in this, you will face the full consequence of the law. You can be jailed. There is a certain amount of illegal drugs that could get you a jail sentence with no bail. Your dreams will be destroyed,” he stated.
