The Quezon City government has started demolishing shanties along Mother Ignacia Street in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City.
Dennis Protacio of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor told dzMM that 89 families had to be moved out of the shanties since the Bureau of Fire Protection declared the site to be unsafe for residents.

Protacio said there were originally 337 families living in the shanties, and most of them had been moved to a relocation site in Pandi, Bulacan.
At least 3 people were injured as some of the informal settlers hurled hard objects at members of the demolition team. —report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
