More than a third of Filipinos satisfied with Aquino, survey says

More than a third of Filipinos are satisfied with President Benigno Aquino III’s performance, a Social Weather Stations survey indicates.

According to the report, first published on BusinessWorld, 76 percent of respondents said they were satisfied against 12 percent who said they were not. This gave Aquino a net satisfaction score of +64, up from +59 reported in March.

The same survey, which was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult respondents, said 40 percent of respondents said Aquino will be a successful President while 13 percent said he would not be. Another 47 percent said it is too soon to say.

Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the Palace is encouraged by the positive results of the survey. He noted Aquino’s ratings have not dipped below 63 percent since September 2010, when the first SWS survey on satisfaction with President Aquino was published.

“These sustained, positive numbers are reflective of the Filipino people’s enduring trust in and support of the President’s policies, initiatives, and reforms,” he said.
