Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile showed up at the Senate today, Mon, Aug 24. He was seen walking through the Senate building smiling. His daughter, Katrina Ponce Enrile, was with him.
Well, Enrile did say he was looking forward to going back to work. Then again, didn’t the Supreme Court (SC) grant his bail petition due partly to humanitarian or health reasons?
So, what does this mean? Enrile is well enough to go back to work but not well enough to be under hospital arrest? We are officially confused.
Enrile had posted a PHP1.45 million bail — PHP1 million for plunder and PHP450,000 for the 15 counts of graft filed against him over the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.
