Four people were injured following an 11-vehicle crash at the northbound lane of North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) on Monday morning.

A speeding trailer truck rammed about 10 vehicles at NLEx’s Kilometer 63 in San Fernando, Pampanga at around 10 a.m., according to NLEx traffic management and safety department head Robyn Ignacio.

Ignacio said reports coming from the site said at least 4 people sustained minor injuries due to the crash. The victims were already brought to a nearby hospital.

Initial investigation revealed that a separate vehicular accident triggered a build-up at the northbound lane, near the San Fernando exit. An approaching trailer truck failed to slow down, rear-ending the vehicles in front of it.

The driver of the trailer truck fled the scene after the crash, Ignacio said.

Igancio said vehicle counter-flowing is now being implemented on NLEx to avoid massive traffic build-up.
