At this point, who is even surprised that people are once again angered by something Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson did?

Currently viral is a post by Facebook user Angelo James F. Esperanzate who on Friday shared a clip showing Uson and her radio show co-host Drew Olivar making fun of sign language.

“YOU NEVER MAKE FUN OF DEAF PEOPLE! It’s not about intelligence, it’s about character and morality,” Esperanzate wrote on his caption. “Duterte supporters care about no one else but themselves. This shameful display is a perfect example of that.”

He also called people to share his post, saying that the two should be removed from their government positions.

The clip Esperanzate shared comes from a Facebook Live session that Uson held on Thursday. At the beginning of the Live session, Uson tells Olivar that people are asking him to do sign language. Olivar then proceeds to mimic movements usually done by sign language interpreters on TV.

He does this for about 40 seconds, and even broke into a cackle after. Uson also seems to have found it hilarious and can be heard giggling in the background.

“You’re like a monkey,” she said at one point.

Naturally, many were angered by the inappropriate video.

Esperanzate’s Facebook post currently has close to 6,000 reactions and shares and more than 400 comments.

“Wow these stupid people are so insensitive,” Facebook user Jim Tria commented in Filipino.

“Ignore them! These people will eventually get what they deserve. They can be sure of that. For now, let’s not remove our attention from the country’s real issues,” Lei Vistro said.

People have also called Uson out in the comments section of her controversial video.

“Both of you Andrew and Mocha are disrespectful about using Sign Language for Deaf community,” Tess Arines Espiana said with four angry emojis.

Ems Obero, on the other hand, said that they should just do their jobs properly.

“You turn even the language of deaf people into a laughing matter,” she said. “You (Uson) serve the government, people should be looking up to you as a good example but now a lot of deaf people are angry with what you did.”

Moyra Noriega had some harsh words for them. “How do you translate PUTANG INA MO (mother fucker/ fuck you) to sign language[?]” he asked.

This is not the first time Uson and Olivar drew flak from netizens. Last month, the duo were called out for a video where Olivar sang and danced to an inappropriate cheer that consisted of puns referencing the Filipino words for vagina and breasts. It was meant to be a humorous way to educate people on federalism but many were not amused.

Apart from insensitive posts, Uson, a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, has also been criticized for regularly sharing fake news to her millions of social media followers.
