To be fair, they seem to be trying everything to find a solution to our traffic woes.
“In a bid to reduce buses plying on Metro Manila roads, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that a temporary terminal in Alabang, Muntinlupa city will be operational on August 20, 2014 for Southern Luzon-bound provincial utility buses (PUBs),” reports Clara Masinag on InterAksyon.com.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi was said to have “offered the area,” which is located near Filinvest area in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The report noted that “the terminal will be similar to the South West Integrated Provincial Terminal (SWIPT) in Parañaque city.”
The report also explained that “the move came after Metro Manila mayors and officials of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) agreed not to allow PUBs to traverse Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) to reduce the volume of vehicles plying the major thoroughfare.”
