It’s from Metro Manila with love.
“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently deployed a 26-man rescue team to assist in the rehabilitation of areas in Ilocos Norte that were affected by Typhoon Mario,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.
MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino said the team left Manila at 10pm on Monday, Sep 22, and will stay in the province for five days.
Aside from rescue personnel, the group includes carpenters, mechanics, electricians, and laborers.
The report noted: “The team will first attend to damaged schools and government buildings in Laoag City in coordination with the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.”
The team has brought recue equipment, power generators, chainsaws, and battery-operated radios.
