Don’t say you weren’t warned.
“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said traffic along the routes near the construction site of Skyway Stage 3 will get worse by April,” reports Anna Liza Villas-Alavaren in the Manila Bulletin.
The report quoted MMDA official Emilio Llavor, who explained thaty traffic still seems manageable now because the construction of Skyway Stage 3—from Arellano Avenue to F. Torres Street—is still in the “advance works” stage.
In April, though, the initial 10 posts will be erected and the rest of the construction works will be in full swing.
The report further noted: “The 14.8-kilometer Skyway Stage 3 project will connect the North Luzon Expressway (NLex) and South Luzon Expressway (Slex) with an elevated expressway over Osmeña Highway, which links Slex with Manila’s Quirino Avenue.”
Remember: The construction of the project is expected to last at least two years.
However, once completed, the MMDA says that motorists would be able to reach Balintawak from Buendia in just 20 minutes.
