They’ve got more to do, but at least they’re making progress.
“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Wednesday, Nov 20, that the clearing of debris brought or caused by Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City is now 30% complete,” reports The Philippine Star.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino also revealed that 394 of the agency’s personnel have been deployed in Tacloban and Tanauan in Leyte, as well as in Basey, Western Samar. Moreover, the MMDA is also focused on the “Adopt an LGU” program, wherein Metro Manila cities will assist in the recovery of typhoon-damaged towns and cities in Samar and Leyte.
Tolentino explained that “it will be up to the sponsoring Metro Manila LGU to implement programs or mechanisms that will facilitate the recovery of their adopted localities and extend assistance to the displaced residents.”
