Monday’s first day of classes opened smoothly, traffic-wise, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.
The MMDA has deployed some 1,000 traffic constables to direct the flow of traffic in areas all ove rthe metropolis where school opened. MMDA assistant general manager for operations Emerson Carlos warned the public though that the volume of traffic will be heavier on Monday, June 10, when private schools open. Apart from the traffic personnel, the MMDA said they also repainted pedestrian crosswalks near schools and repaired traffic lights, the Philippine Star reported.
