Because we really shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket.
“On Monday, Dec 9, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) proposed a creation of reserve rescue units outside Metro Manila after the agency’s experience in areas devastated by super Typhoon Yolanda,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino pointed out that these rescue teams (hypothetical, for now) from Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna and nearby provinces should be well-trained to respond in case Metro Manila gets crippled by a disaster.
Sounds like a good plan, doesn’t it?
