They’re pulling out all the stops to make this baby float.
For starters, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that by June 1, the Pasig River Ferry will extend its operating hours to accommodate more passengers.
“MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the ferry boats will operate from 6am to 6pm daily. Off-peak hours or lunch break period, meanwhile, will be shortened to 12pm to 2pm (it used to last from 10am to 3pm),” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.
Then, as the report revealed, “by June 2, an additional discount of 20% will be given to loyal passengers who will purchase in advance at least 10 tickets.” This said discount is on top of the regular 20% off given to senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Just a suggestion: Maybe if they hold raffles on the ferry more people would brave the heat and stink.
