In case you don’t know yet, Pokémon Go, is the latest game craze among smartphone and tablet users.
Based on the popular ’90’s anime, the objective is to “capture” Pokémon in the real world by using mobile digital cameras.
Since the game is meant to be played while travelling, gamers would be fiddling on their phones as they walk or drive around.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has expressed their worries about the hazards that the game might bring.
Via their Facebook page, they issued a warning addressed to the players of the latest craze. It says:
1. Don’t play Pokémon Go while crossing the street. Focus on the road, and don’t forget to look left and right.
2. If you can’t stop yourself from playing, use the designated pedestiran footbridges instead, but be alert while walking.
The guys behind the MMDA social media page seems to be hooked on the game as well. They shared tips on where to find several Pokémon.

They also issued tons of warning about “Team Rocket” also known as Pokémon snatchers.

MMDA’s warning is funny but not entirely baseless. It’s easy to see how dangerous the game can be.
The amusing thing? The Pokémon Go game is not even officially available in the Philippines yet! Those who already got to play may have just gotten the game via third-party download sites. As of writing, many users are still having problems with running the app.
We can only imagine how stressed MMDA officers will be once the game is made fully available in the country.
