There’s no need to wonder why some parts of Metro Manila get flooded.
“The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Muntinlupa City government hauled at least 240 truckloads of garbage from the city’s waterways,” reports Perseus Echeminada in The Philippine Star.
Among the areas covered by the cleanup drive were Sucat, Buli, and Cupang’s Pasong Diablo.
On again, the city government “appealed to barangay officials to clean up garbage thrown into the waterways to prevent the garbage from clogging up the drainage system.”
