Two agencies are passing the buck on the widespread flooding experienced by Metro Manila late last week.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino criticized the projects of the DPWH and blamed them for the floods and traffic jams in the metropolis. DPWH, on the other hand, said they would have been finished earlir had the MMDA issued the clearances for their roard work sooner. DPWH-National Capital Region Director Rey Tagudando said there are still more than 50 projects that have yet to be given clearance by the MMDA. There also more than 100 ongoing road works and declogging projects which they are fast-tracking.
The DPWH for its part, blamed uncollected garbage for the flashfloods that occurred last week, ABS CBN News reported.
