MMDA deploys 60 female enforcers

Hopefully, women will make motorists more respectful.

Crisanto Saruca—head of the MMDA’s Traffic Discipline Office—said they have started the deployment of Task Force EDSA Lady Auxiliary Platoon this week.

The task force is actually team of 60 women traffic constables.

“Saruca said the MMDA believes women traffic enforcers could be better at the job as compared to their male counterparts because motorists are more likely to follow traffic rules at the sight of female traffic enforcers,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.

Saruca explained that the members of the task force will be on EDSA from Monday and Friday on fixed posts at Ayala Avenue, Gil Puyat (Buendia), Guadalupe, Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas, and Cubao from 5am to 1pm on Mondays and from 1pm to 9pm on Fridays.

Saruca added that “they will be on standby for deployment in other parts of EDSA when needed on the other days.”
