MMDA deploys 450 traffic enforcers to deal with holiday traffic

Will they make traffic hell more bearable?

“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed 450 traffic enforcers to facilitate the flow of traffic along the metropolis’ major streets during the Christmas rush,” reports Mike Frialde in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “MMDA Traffic Discipline Office director Crisanto Saruca said the enforcers will complement the 250 police officers deployed by the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).”

The MMDA “also reminded contractors of road projects that the moratorium on road diggings and repairs will start on Dec. 14.” The suspension of road works for the Christmas season will last until the first week of January.

However, priority road projects such as the construction of the Skyway 3 will not be covered by the suspension.
