MMDA Chief: no jump in wealth

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino has denied the reported sudden increase in his total net worth.

GMA News quoted the MMDA’s official Twitter where the chairman explained his side on the issue. Tolentino  maintained that his new Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net Worth form affected his assets and liabilities tally.

“My properties in 2011 and 2012 are the same,” said Tolentino, adding that “The discrepancy in the SALN is due to the non-inclusion of improvements in the tally as this was not required under the old SALN form.” Tolentino added: “But these improvements were fully, truthfully and honestly declared.  According to the report, Tolentino also clarified that he only filed one SALN for 2012, instead of the reported three. The other other forms he said, are mere attachments.

Tolentino’s SALN in 2012 shows a net worth of P43,773,691.02, which is over P20 million more than his P22,540,381.52 net worth in 2011.
