MMDA awards exemplary workers

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino awarded the “Marangal” (Noble) badge to 35 members of the Metro Parkway Clearing Group (MPCG) who were injured while on duty.

According to Inquirer News, of the 35 who were injured from January 2011 to March 2013,  22 were sideswiped by cars, eight were hit by motorcycles, while one was hit by a jeepney. All of these happened while they were dispensing their duties. In fact, most of the awardees who received their badges were in crutches and wheel chairs.

The MMDA gives out merit awards to exemplary workers. On the average, an MMDA employee earns P11,800 a month.
