Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago was rushed by ambulance to the Makati Medical Center (MMC) last Mon, May 30 due to “complications.”
The annoucement was made by the senator’s husband Narciso “Jun” Santiago. On Tue night, May 31, Senator Santiago was transferred from her private room in MCC to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Mr. Santiago said that visitors are not allowed and so gifts will not be accepted.
Mr. Santiago said that the senator is still “bearing well with her trademark sense of humor” and that she thanks everyone “who helped pray for her recovery and sent their well-wishes on Facebook.”
