“Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago has denounced her inclusion in Benhur Luy’s list of lawmakers who had transactions with alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim Napoles saying there’s no supporting documents to prove Luy’s claims,” reports ANC.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer had published the names of the 25 senators who were allegedly named in Luy’s pork list. Santiago’s name was among that of 15 incumbent senators who allegedly had transactions with Napoles. Also included were 10 names of past senators.
As such, Santiago backtracked on her previous statement, when she tagged Luy’s list as “more credible” than the so-called list that former senator Ping Lacson claimed to have gotten from Napoles’s husband.

In a statement, Santiago said, “For the record, I denounce as false, the allegations against me drawn from the Luy list. All the documents are fake. I have no clue about the alleged details, which are all falsified or fictitious.”
She added, “The Luy list has no proof of the attestation of any public document, and no proof of the authenticity of any private document. Thus, the Luy list constitutes no proof at all against me and others like me. The Luy list is nothing but mudslinging.”
