Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) governor Mujiv Hataman couldn’t help but express his exasperation after the Davao City blast that left 14 dead and more than 60 wounded.
In a statement released on Sat, Sep 3, Hataman called the rebels of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) as the “biggest traitor of Islam” after the ASG claimed responsibility for the tragic bombing at the Roxas Night Market in Davao on Fri.
Hataman was quoted by ABS-CBN News: “Their activities are purely betrayal of the values and principles we hold dear as a peace-loving people. Islam does not condone the spilling of blood.”
Several Muslim leaders have condemned the Davao City bombing and urged everyone to stay safe and keep on working towards peace.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire country in a “state of lawlessness” to address the security and safety issues after the Fri night explosion in Davao, which was followed by two separate explosions in Cotabato and South Cotabato on Sat night.
