Has former President and current Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada gained a new fan?
“On Monday, April 20, Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s husband, Mike Arroyo, thanked and praised former President and current Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada for saying that one of his birthday wishes was for his successor to be granted house arrest by the Sandiganbayan,” reports Trish Roque on InterAksyon.com.

In atext message sent to reporters, the former First Gentleman said, “We thank President Erap for his kind comments. He is truly a gentleman.”
The report noted: “Estrada, who celebrated his 78th birthday last Sunday, April 19, was deposed via an uprising in January 2001 and was replaced by Mrs. Arroyo as chief executive. He was detained for almost seven years and was found guilty of committing plunder by the anti-graft court in September 2007 but was granted pardon by Mrs. Arroyo a month later.”
