So, it’s like the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) that the ceiling that recently collapsed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 does not belong to them.
“MIAA stressed that the construction of structures inside commercial spaces of the NAIA terminal is the sole responsibility of concessionaires,” reports ABS-CBN News.
The ceiling of Sweet Ideas Restaurant at NAIA-3 collapsed early Thu morning, Jan 28, affecting at least two people: a construction worker and a passenger, who nearly got hit by debris.
The report noted: “According to initial investigation, the ceiling was made of substandard materials which may have led to the collapse. MIAA spokesperson David de Castro said they will impose penalties on the concessionaire should it be proven that substandard materials were used for the restaurant’s construction.”
The restaurant will remain closed until the end of the investigation.
