Pirated goods are still hot in the metro.
“Less than a year after Quiapo was removed from the U.S. government’s list of notorious markets, the Business Software Alliance (BSA) reveal that intellectual property rights piracy persists in Metro Manila,” reports Ben Arnold O. De Vera on InterAksyon.com.
In a document submitted to the US Office of the Trade Representative (USTR), the BSA said pirated software can still be bought in the following Metro Manila locations:
1. Quiapo
2. Binondo
3. Baclaran
4. Malls in Divisoria, including Juan Luna Plaza and the New Divisoria Mall
The BSA said that “there has been little improvement in these specific areas.”
Ouch!
