Metro Manila residents told to be on guard vs. dengue

According to the Department of Health (DOH), Manila tops the list of dengue “hotspots” in the metro, with 363 cases in the first quarter of the year.

Overall, at least 1,266 cases were reported in key cities of the metropolis from January to March 22 with five deaths.

“In an update, the DOH said Quezon City had 302 cases followed by Las Piñas, 139; Pasig, 133; Caloocan, 118; Parañaque, 108; and Taguig, 103,” reports Ma. Jerrylyn B. Damaso in the Manila Standard Today.

This is why the DOH is stepping up efforts to clean up potential breeding grounds of mosquitoes.
