It’s a tall order.
“In a recent command conference, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Carmelo Valmoria tasked Metro Manila’s 38 police station commanders have been given one month, starting June 19, to reduce the crime rate in their respective jurisdictions,” reports Non Alquitran in The Philippine Star.
Valmoria revealed that “station commanders will be removed from their post if they fail.” Valmoria said he will evaluate their performance in July.
Valmoria has directed police commanders to relentlessly recover stolen motorcycles and loose firearms, the primary tools of motorcycle-riding criminals. Moreover, he also ordered them to be consistent in serving arrest warrants and updating their online files of wanted criminals. He wants them to secure convictions in court as well.
