Metro Manila has 1,750 new cops

If they all turn out to be good cops, we’d all feel much safer.

“A total of 1750 police recruits were added to the Metro Manila police force as they took their oath before the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief on Thursday, November 6,” reports Kristine Felisse Mangunay in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The report noted: “The police recruits — who took their oath before NCRPO chief Director Carmelo Valmoria at the Metro Manila police headquarters in Taguig — would be sent to different police regional office training centers in La Union, Isabela, Pampanga and the Cordillera region to undergo one-year rigorous theoretical and physical training.”

Valmoria expressed the hope that the new police recruits would “be molded to be the new breed of police officers who will uphold the standard and the good image of the Philippine National Police(PNP).”
