We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but it’s better to know the facts than be surprised by an astronomical power bill.
“Power utility Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has alerted consumers in their franchise area to prepare for an increase in generation charge that will range from P2 per kwh to P2.50 per kwh. The final figure will be announced on December 9,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report pointed out: “If the final figure is P2.50/kwh, consumers using 200 kwh will have to shell out PHP500 more, 300 kwh users will spend PHP750 more, 400 kwh users will add PHP1,000, and 500 kwh users will spend an added PHP1,250.”
