Here’s one more reason why there should be tougher laws requiring trucks to be in good condition before they can travel with their cargo.
“McDonald’s delivery man Archie Gaerlan, who was on his way back to the fastfood restaurant, died on the spot after his motorcycle slid under an out-of-control truck along Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City on Thursday morning, August 28,” reports Johnson Manabat on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report revealed that “at around 4:30am, a 10-wheeler truck loaded with sand allegedly went out of control and crashed five other vehicles at the corner of Mindanao and Congressional Avenues.”
The police said “the truck, which was headed for Taguig, hit the motorcycle carrying Gaerlan first before crashing into the other vehicles.”
Truck driver Jay Atencio claimed his brakes failed. He also said that the truck was just running at 25 to 30 kilometers per hour.
