A concerned citizen got in touch with ABS-CBN News’ Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo (BMPM) and claimed that Parañaque National High School seems to have adopted a new “tradition” for its graduation photos.

“According to the BMPM contributor, they were startled to see the image of Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez ‘Photoshopped’ into the graduation picture of their child,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report went on to cite Atty. Joy Dulnuan — legal officer of the Department of Education (DepEd)-Metro Manila — the practice of “Photoshopping” the image of politicians into graduation pictures is definitely not allowed.

Dulnuan said the “Photoshopping” shouldn’t be done especially if the student paid for the graduation picture to be taken and it is therefore considered as private property.

Well, it seems the folks at Parañaque City Hall have a ready answer for that.

Parañaque City administrator Fernando Soriano pointed out that the graduation photo wherein Mayor Olivarez’s image also appears is “a donation from a private individual and the government didn’t spend a single cent on it.”

That “private individual” must be a big fan of Mayor Olivarez, then.
