It goes without saying that the airport should have better security.
“Mayor Ukol Talumpa of Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur was shot dead at the arrival area of NAIA Terminal 3 around 1120 am today, Dec 20,” reports GMA News Online. According to the report, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Jose Angel Honrado said at a press conference that “three others” were also shot during the incident.
The report also noted that “Talumpa was the apparent target of a previous assassination attempt in September 2012, a grenade attack in Pagadian City.”
