Mayor Del: Tiny homes not ideal for pets

Amid the brewing controversy over his city’s so-called discrimination against poor pet owners, Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman is standing by the city ordinance and insists that it is for the common good.

In an Inquirer News report, the Marikina City mayor defended the city ordinance by saying that it also prohibits well-to-do residents living in condo units and other small spaces from having pets.

This means he said, that the law is not just for the poor people living resettlement areas or informal dwelling places.

The city ordinance was passed in 1997. De Guzman reiterated that the law is for the benefits of residents and communities.
