Maynilad sends water tankers, generator to Tacloban

As its name indicates, Maynilad serves Metro Manila and parts of Cavite. But it’s going to operate out of its jurisdiction (in a manner of speaking) in order to help Typhoon Yolanda victims.

“Maynilad Water Services Inc. has sent four water tankers, complete with drivers and mechanics to Tacloban, Leyte, one of the areas hardest hit by Typhoon Yolanda,” reports Euan Paulo C. Añonuevo on InterAksyon.com.

The tankers were sent to help the local water district in Tacloban City deliver clean water to its customers. In a statement, Maynilad explained that “while the water treatment plant of the Tacloban Water District is operational, portions of its distribution network remain damaged, effectively cutting off water supply in certain areas.”

That’s why Maynilad also sent a 600 kiloVolt Ampere generator through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
