Maynilad to replace 30-year-old pipes in Fairview

Maynilad Water Services Inc. will be replacing 11 kilometers of old pipes in Fairview, Quezon City.

The repairs, which will cost P61 million, is expected to improve water services to 20,800 people in East Fairview and East Fairview Parkhomes, the company said through the Philippine Information Agency.

“Leaks and mainline breakages not only cause unscheduled water interruptions but can also serve as entry points for water contaminants. Our pipe replacement projects will therefore deliver better services to our consumers and safeguard their health,” the concessionaire’s president and CEO Ricky Vargas said.

Replacing the pipes will also help Maynilad recover 3 million liters of water lost to leakage a day.

The company is coordinating with the Quezon City Engineering Office to minimize traffic and inconvenience in affected areas. Work areas will be enclosed by barricades and will be marked by warning lights and signs to ensure safety.
