Blame it on not enough rain.

“About 900 barangays supplied by Maynilad Water Services Inc. will experience water interruption starting Wednesday, September 16. However, instead of the 20-hour interruption, water will be cut off for only 7 hours from 9pm to 4am,” reports Lia Cruz on News5.

The report said that the following areas that will be affected by Manilad’s water service interuuption: parts of Caloocan City, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, and Cavite.

The said locations constitute 56% of Maynilad concession area which is the west zone.

Maynilad explained that “despite the rains, the water collected at the Angat and Ipo dams are not sufficient to sustain its water supply allocation due to effects of the El Nino.”
