This is the kind of news that makes us want to put on some dancing shoes. (Sorry, we had to work in a shoe reference somewhere.)
“The 2013 Marikina Shoe Festival has reported the sale of 90,529 pairs of shoes, a record high in its history,” reports Madelynne Dominguez in the Manila Bulletin.
According to the Marikina Shoe Festival Secretariat, that means the Shoe Fest has reached PHP43,977,576.50 in gross sales. That definitely surpasses 2012’s gross sales of PHP37,321,895.10 for 77,000 pairs of shoes.
The festival also includes a Shoe Caravan and Mega Shoe Sale, which Marikina shoes to different areas of Metro Manila. It started in October 2013 and will run until January 14, 2014.
