One minute you’re just hanging out, the next minute you literally get blasted. (Barely a week ago, the same thing had happened in Mandaluyong.)
“At around 8pm on Saturday, March 1, Venus Gapultos, 34; Jovan Bag, 28; Richard Bejoc, 34; John Paul Cañal, 16; and Angeline Doctor, 32, were standing at the corner of G. Del Pilar and Paraiso Streets in Barangay Parang, Marikina City when two men riding a motorcycle passed by them and hurled a grenade,” reports Non Alquitran in The Philippine Star.
The five victims sustained injuries and were taken to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, none of them remembered the license plate number of the suspects’ motorcycle.
Crime scene investigators recovered grenade fragments recovered at the scene and are still figuring out the motive for the attack.
