On Friday afternoon, September 19, Mayor Del De Guzman declared Marikina City under a state of calamity due to heavy rains and flooding brought by Typhoon Mario (international name “Fung-Wong”).
“De Guzman explained that the declaration stemmed from the flooding in eight barangays,” reports Aries Joseph Hegina on Inquirer.net.
Forced evacuation was likewise implmented in the said villages.
Classes in all levels in Marikina City for Saturday, September 20, have likewise been suspended.
