A graduating student’s future has been tainted after he got arrested on Saturday night after authorities found marijuana in his hair wax container at a Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) station in Manila.

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Kenny Francis Pelipel, a graduating student of San Beda University and resident of the Vista Verde Executive Village in Cainta, Rizal, GMA News reported.

The LRT-2 security personnel at the Legarda Station noticed that Pelipel was restless while waiting in line for the security check, radio station RMN reported.

When it was his turn, the security personnel saw through an x-ray machine that there were two glass tube pipes inside the suspect’s bag, Manila Bulletin reported.

The security personnel became suspicious and asked Pelipel to empty his pockets. Inside one of his pockets was a plastic container of hair wax containing the suspected marijuana worth about PHP100 (US$1.90), the Manila Bulletin report added.

Authorities also seized the two glass tubes which allegedly had bits of marijuana in it.

Pelipel is detained at the Manila Police District Station 4. He will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
